It’s all speculation at this point. He hasn’t even seen the specialist yet.

So the source said if he requires surgery he'd expect him to miss some time moving forward. That's shocking stuff.

Also it's playoff berth, not birth. Haha.

It’s not even a source. He just read an article and a Twitter post.

Hearing the initial word on Nikita Kucherov is not positive and surgery could be involved. Assuming that's accurate, I'd expect him to miss some time moving forward, should know more later today #GoBolts #TBLightning

they will just trade for Phil Kessel and Kucherov will magically be back for the playoffs and Tampa will be a 90 millions dollar cap team again

Sorry to hear he's injured...but excited for the eventual meltdown on this site when he returns from the LTIR in the playoffs.

What's with all this naive talk about cap circumvention? Last year seemed obvious. They delayed his return to fit the cap.

But there is no immediate benefit to Kucherov being out now. If they were gaming the system they would have had someone go on LTIR this summer and allowed them to keep Goodrow or Gourde or Coleman. But what's the advantage now? Unless your theory is he misses the next 80 games, so they trade futures for a star player, and then Kucherov comes back for game 1 of the playoffs? Seems a little presumptuous.

In Jon Coopers press conference today he said Kucherov is not a day to day thing. He’ll be out a while. Just don’t know how long. Waiting to hear more before giving a timeline.

This was followed up by another beat writer for the Lightning who said they are waiting for him to see the specialist this week.

Looked groin related in the video, I assume the team will say more after the specialist meeting.

Maybe they should trade for Eichel to help them get through the Kucherov injury

He will be able to have a new T-shirt printed for him: “I only play in playoffs”

He's played a regular season game, so Tampa will NOT be able to circumnavigate the cap come playoffs. His cap hit will count.
